“Church Doors” marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Adams, as it heralds the arrival of her first full-length album in 13 years, Sunny Days, scheduled for release on September 13, 2024. The album, Adams’ debut with Epic Records, promises to deliver the uplifting and inspirational music that has become synonymous with her name.
A true powerhouse in the world of gospel and contemporary Christian music, Adams has landed six top 10 titles on the Top Christian Albums chart, including 1999’s chart-busting Mountain High… Valley Low, which spent 16 weeks atop the ranking and charted for an impressive 100 weeks. Her 2000 single “Open My Heart” reached No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the biggest crossover gospel tracks of the 21st century, also appearing on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (No. 10), Dance Club Songs (No. 29), Adult R&B Airplay (No. 1, 16 weeks), and the all-genre Radio Songs chart (No. 53).
Speaking about her new release, Adams shares her excitement: “I am so excited about the release of the single ‘Church Doors’ because we have been working on it with some amazing people including Donald Lawrence, Sir The Baptist, and Terry Hunter. A group of fantastic people wrote an amazing song that voices the sentiments of testimony. The world has been through so much so to have some good news about what God has done is what we need right now. That’s the theme of ‘Church Doors.’”
The new single, “Church Doors,” will be available on all major streaming platforms as part of a three-track bundle, including the Original Mix, a Remix featuring Terry Hunter, Sir The Baptist, and Donald Lawrence & Co, and an Extended Remix featuring J. Ivy, Terry Hunter, Sir The Baptist, and Donald Lawrence & Co. The remixes were produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning artist J. Ivy, adding a fresh and contemporary twist to Adams’ timeless sound. An official music video for “Church Doors” will also be released, further enhancing the song’s powerful message.
On “Church Doors,” Adams’ unparalleled vocal prowess shines through, with handclaps and choir harmonies amplifying her full-bodied performance. The track’s message of faith and resilience resonates deeply, as she sings, “When you let me make it to the church doors, I’ll tell them what you’ve done for me.” It’s a triumphant return for Adams, showcasing her ability to blend traditional gospel with contemporary influences.
Sunny Days is a 15-track masterpiece that represents yet another creative high for Adams. The album is a reflection of her growth as an artist and a beacon of hope for her listeners.
