Residents Encouraged to Register

Douglasville, GA — On May 2, 2025, Douglas County will officially launch a new emergency alert platform, Alert Douglas, replacing the current CodeRED system.

Developed in collaboration with Rave Mobility, Alert Douglas is a modernized emergency communication system that delivers real-time updates about severe weather events, public safety concerns, and other emergency situations. The system offers residents the flexibility to receive alerts via phone calls, text messages, or email.

James Queen, Director of the Douglas County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), emphasized the importance of early registration.

“Alert Douglas is more than a technical upgrade. It is a vital tool for keeping our community safe,” said Queen. “In an emergency, accurate and timely information can save lives. This new platform gives residents greater control and improved access to alerts. We are urging everyone to sign up now so they can stay informed and ready.”

Key features of Alert Douglas include:

  • The ability to choose your preferred method of contact: phone, text, or email
  • An option to provide personal information that can assist first responders in an emergency
  • Customizable alert preferences, including weather warnings, law enforcement notifications, and more

How to Register:
Residents can sign up online at https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=douglascountyga or by downloading the SMART911 app to their smartphone.

Please note that registrations from the previous CodeRED system will not transfer. To continue receiving emergency alerts, residents must register with the new system.

For questions or more information, contact the Douglas County Emergency Management Agency by email at dcema@douglascountyga.gov or call 770-949-3007.

Alert Douglas is designed to keep every resident informed, prepared, and protected—because in an emergency, access to information matters.
