Community Event Scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Chapel Hill Middle School

Douglasville, GA – Douglas County District 3 Commissioner Martin Raxton invites the community to a town hall meeting on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 6:00 PM taking place in the cafeteria at Chapel Hill Middle School in Douglasville. This event will serve as a platform for Commissioner Raxton to connect with District 3 residents, present his vision for the County and provide a forum for County leaders to discuss enhancing community life.

“The town hall is a chance for us to come together, discuss our collective challenges and share a vision for a better future,” said Commissioner Raxton. “I’m looking forward to hearing directly from our residents about their concerns and ideas along with demonstrating how we can work together to make Douglas County a great place to live and work.”

The town hall will provide a unique opportunity for residents to engage directly with the Commissioner and share their perspectives on pressing local issues. Commissioner Raxton will outline his key initiatives focused on economic growth, infrastructure improvements and the enhancement of community services.

“We’re also excited to offer a job fair in conjunction with the town hall,” Raxton added. “This is not just about dialogue; it’s about action. By connecting people with local job opportunities, we’re taking a step towards strengthening our community and ensuring that everyone has a chance to thrive.”

The event will feature a job fair organized by the Douglas County Department of Human Resources. Attendees can explore various employment opportunities and receive assistance from job seekers. Representatives from the following County departments will also be available:

  • Danielle Nichols, Human Resources Director
  • Suleman Rana, Transportation Director
  • Steve Balfour, Chief Appraiser
  • DCTV23, Douglas County’s government access channel
  • Douglas Connect, Douglas County’s transportation services
